Laugh with Sheldon and Leonard as You Watch The Big Bang Theory Online

By Gabriela Vatu / February 20, 2019

For the past dozen years, The Big Bang Theory has been the go-to TV show for many people. If you're looking for ways to watch The Big Bang Theory online, we're here to help you out.

The Big Bang Theory first aired back in September 2007. Now, as the final season is on TV, there's a sense of nostalgia going on around the Internet as people aren't too keep to say goodbye to their favorite characters. Of course, there are also plenty of those who think the show has run its course and it's a good thing that it's coming to an end soon.

How will the show end? Well, it seems that the final episodes haven't even been written yet. Eric Kaplan, one of the show's executive producers, said they're trying to treat it all with extreme care because it's going to be an emotional finale for everyone involved, both the cast, crew, and especially the fans. Chuck Lorre, series co-creator, did reveal that the finale will be an hour - two episodes that will connect. Also, Mayim Bialik, actress and actual neuroscientist who plays Amy Fowler on the show, did a Q&A with fans, so you might want to check that out if you're looking for new info on the final season.

The next episode is gearing up to be full of stars, so we're quite excited about it too, as William Shatner, Kevin Smith, and Joe Manganiello will be on, as well as NBA superstar Kareem Abdul Jabbar. What will they be doing? Playing Dungeons and Dragons, apparently.

Now, let's go ahead and find out everything you need to know about The Big Bang Theory.

When and Where Does The Big Bang Theory Air?

The 12th season kicked off back in September 2018, and it will end sometime in May, although the exact date hasn't been announced yet. The show airs every Thursday at 8/7c on CBS. Luckily, CBS is easy to watch online.

Where Can You Watch The Big Bang Theory Online?

CBS is a channel that you can watch quite easily, including via its own platform. In order to watch the live feed or access any of the TV show's episodes online, you'll need to create an account with CBS All Access. This one costs $5.99 per month with some ads or $9.99 per month for the commercial-free version, and you get a free trial for a week, regardless of which one you pick. We have a CBS All Access review if you want to give it a read, so check it out.

How Can You Watch The Big Bang Theory Without Cable?

If you've cut the cord and want to make sure you have a replacement ready, there are several ways to watch CBS via the many streaming platforms that list the channel. Here are the streaming services where you can watch CBS and how you can get the channel.

fuboTV - This sports-centric streaming service features two bundles to pick from, and a lot of channel packs. Luckily for you, however, when you subscribe to fuboTV, you'll find that CBS is present in both fubo and fubo Extra bundles, so you're good to go. You should keep in mind, however, that the channel is only present in select markets, so you'll have to check if it's covered in your area. Read our fuboTV review for more details on what the service has to offer.

Hulu - Next up, we have Hulu, whose Live TV plan costs $39.99 per month and it includes access to dozens of channels, as well as the VOD library. When subscribing to Live TV, there's only one bundle, so you don't get to make too many decisions. CBS is there in that bundle, so you're good to go to watch The Big Bang Theory. Read our Hulu review to get more details on what this service has to offer.

YouTube TV - Straight from the Mountain View Internet giant, YouTube TV is a great platform, even though it assumes to know what you want. With only one bundle to get for $40 per month, YouTube TV's list of channels includes CBS. Read our YouTube TV review for more info on what you can watch here.

DirecTV Now - Up next, we have DirecTV Now, which features five bundles to pick from, each of which includes CBS. This means you can pick Live a Little, Just Right, Go Big, Gotta Have It, or Todo y Mas when subscribing to DirecTV Now. Read TechNadu's DirecTV Now review to get all the details on what this platform is about.

PlayStation Vue - Another option you have to watch The Big Bang Theory is to get PlayStation Vue. This one features four bundles - Access, Core, Elite, and Ultra - and you can get CBS no matter which one you pick when you subscribe to PlayStation Vue. Come find out all about the perks this platform has in our PlayStation Vue review.

Sling TV - We should also mention Sling TV. This one is a great platform that comes with three main bundles with prices varying from $25 to $40 per month. The thing about this platform is that you can watch CBS if you get an HD antenna. How can you get one of those? Well, by paying for your Sling TV subscription for two months in advance, you're eligible to get a free antenna delivered to you. Make sure to read our Sling TV review for a more comprehensive look at what the service has to offer.

What If CBS Isn't Available Where You Live?

The beauty of using an online streaming platform is that if a channel is not available in the area you live in, you can make it appear as if you do. So, let's say you live in an area that doesn't have CBS for whatever reason, like Anchorage, Alaska, or Lafayette, Louisiana. You can use a VPN to switch to a big city that does have CBS like New York City, Washington D.C., Dallas, or Miami. In fact, pretty much any metropolitan area will do. In this way, as soon as you connect to the local server, you're going to have access to the channels that are available in that particular area. Here's what you need to do to make this work.

Note: This trick also works if you happen to travel abroad and want to access the platforms when away since all the content is geoblocked. You should keep in mind, however, that these platforms only work for US citizens since they require a US card to create an account.

What Other Ways Are There to Watch The Big Bang Theory?

As shown in Sling's case, you can get CBS with a digital antenna. So, if you've cut the cord but are only interested in a few local channels, you can watch them with the help of an antenna. You're going to need for your TV to have a digital tuner and you're going to need to buy an antenna. Antennas these days are small and flat and they can easily blend in with your home furniture. You will have to make sure that you live in an area where the broadcast signal is high, however, and you can check out your address on TV Fool. Otherwise, paying for one of these won't do you much good. Here are the best TV antennas for you.

As mentioned, you can also watch The Big Bang Theory via TBS, which is another channel you can find online. They don't air current episodes, but you can watch older episodes as on-demand or every night via the live stream. You can log in to the TBS website with your cable provider credentials, or with a streaming service. The streaming services that feature TBS are fuboTV, Sling TV, Hulu, YouTube TV, DirecTV Now, and PlayStation Vue.
