At the end of the day, it's great if we can enjoy a comedy and laugh a bit to destress after a long day. And that's exactly what Abby's, a new TV series, plans to help us do. So, if you want to start watching this new show live online, we're here to help you out.
Abby's is a new show that will premiere on March 28, 2019, on NBC. The show stars Natalie Morales (Lucy in Parks and Recreation), Neil Flynn (the Janitor in Scrubs), Nelson Franklin (Connor Stevens in Black-ish), and Jessica Chaffin (Congresswoman Gellardi in Veep), to name a few. The show follows the story of Abby's unlicensed backyard bar and many have compared it to "oldie but goldie" show Cheers, even though it doesn't exactly aim to play in the same league.

You can expect to watch Abby's on NBC, every Thursday at 9:30/8:30c. Let's go ahead and find out what options you have if you want to watch the show online.
Yes, as soon as episodes air, they get added to NBC's website. The most recent five episodes are open for streaming on the site, and the best part is that you don't even have to log in to watch them. All this happens after the show airs live, however, so if you're looking to watch Abby's when it's broadcast, your best bet is a live TV platform.
In the past few years, the popularity of live TV platforms has grown considerably as people start cutting the cord with their cable providers. This happens due to expensive cable plans, the impossibility to customize the plans you're paying for and those nasty contracts that tie you down. Live TV platforms are the exact opposite - they offer cheaper plans, they can be customized to some extent and you can cancel any time you want since there's no contract involved. Let's see what options you have moving forward.
fuboTV - First on our list, we have fuboTV, which is a great platform that features two bundles to pick from - fubo and fubo Extra. Thankfully, NBC is part of both bundles, so you can choose whichever one you like best. If you want to customize the service in any way, you can add one of the many channel packs they offer, or any of the premium networks they have. Read our fuboTV review for more details.
Sling TV - Next, we have Sling TV on, which is a great platform that features some really great bundles and loads of channel packs you can add to customize the experience. There are three bundles to start off with here - Orange, Blue, and Orange + Blue - and you'll find NBC in both Blue and Orange + Blue. Make sure to read our Sling TV review to better understand the service.
Hulu - Our next suggestion is Hulu, which is a great service that comes full of cool channels. There's only one bundle offered here for $44.99 per month. Thankfully, NBC made the list, so you're good to go to watch Abby's. In order to customize, you can add a couple of channel packs and a bunch of premium networks. Check out our Hulu review for more info.
YouTube TV - Next up, we have YouTube TV, which is a great tool that also features a single bundle of channels. Among the dozens of networks they have there, you can also watch NBC, and it's only $40 per month. If you want to customize it all, however, you'll have to stick to adding premium networks only. Read TechNadu's YouTube TV review to learn more and find out if this is the right tool for you.
PlayStation Vue - Our next suggestion is PlayStation Vue, and it's a great platform that offers four different bundles to pick from - Access, Core, Elite, and Ultra. Watching Abby's will be easy since NBC is present in all four bundles, so you can pick whichever you like best, or the one that has the right price tag for you. Our PlayStation Vue review features a lot more details on the service, including on those really cool perks they offer.
DirecTV Now - We conclude our list with DirecTV Now, which is a platform that has suffered some changes in March 2019. The original five bundles were scrapped and two were delivered - Plus ($50/mo) and Max ($70/mo). Then, the old bundles were brought back with a new name and with a subscription price that was double to what it was - Entertainment ($93/mo), Choice ($110/mo), Xtra ($124/mo), Ultimate ($135/mo), and (Optimo Mas ($86/mo). NBC is part of all seven bundles, so you don't have to worry. Read our DirecTV Now review to find out more about the service.
NBC is one of the channels that you can watch over the air, locally. So, even though it's one of the most popular networks, it doesn't exactly reach everyone everywhere. The problem is that this very same thing happens even if you use a live TV platform. Now, these platforms act like any other website and know where you are by reading your IP address. This means that you can easily bypass the problem if you find yourself unable to watch NBC by using a VPN. Here's what you need to do.
NBC is, indeed, one of the channels that you can watch over the air almost everywhere across the United States. Using antennas is quite cost efficient since the only investment you have to make is in the actual antenna, as watching TV is free with such a device. The downside is that you only get to enjoy about a dozen channels, maybe more, depending on where you live, which is a big jump from the hundreds of channels cable offers.
Before you decide which antenna to buy, you should definitely check on a site like NoCable to see what channels are available in your general area and how strong the signal is. We offered you a suggestion already, which is a highly-appreciated antenna, but you can do your own research if you want to.
If you want to make sure you can watch Abby's whenever you feel like it, you can, of course, check out the NBC site for the latest five episodes. Otherwise, if you have a Hulu subscription, the show is landing on Hulu on March 29, as per the company's list of additions in March.
Plus, if you'd rather own the show's episodes and seasons, you will be able to purchase them from the likes of Amazon Prime, iTunes, Microsoft Store, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu. Since the show hasn't aired yet, we can't add the links to send you there, but we'll make sure to update as soon as that happens.
We'd love to hear back from you so you can tell us which platform you chose, and you can do that in the comments section below. Share the article online so others can find it too, and follow TechNadu on Facebook and Twitter for more tech news, guides, reviews, and interviews.
