ExpressVPN has announced a major expansion of its server network across the US. As of now, users can connect to VPN servers in all 50 states, a move aimed at improving privacy, access, and performance as internet regulations continue to vary across the country.

ExpressVPN's US server expansion now increases U.S. server locations from 24 to 62, adding 38 new sites. Earlier, only PIA VPN had servers in all 50 US states, but now, ExpressVPN has joined this league.

ExpressVPN's new update includes multiple servers in high-demand areas like Los Angeles and New Jersey. According to the company, all servers are physical, but in some cases, virtual locations are used, meaning the IP address reflects the selected state while traffic is routed through a nearby physical server for improved performance.

Each server also runs on ExpressVPN’s TrustedServer technology, a RAM-only system that wipes all data with every reboot. In addition, the entire network supports Lightway, the company’s open-source VPN protocol, which now includes Lightway Turbo, an upgraded version designed for even faster speeds.

This expansion comes as U.S. state-level laws increasingly shape the digital experience. New rules about content access, data collection, and user identity checks vary by state, creating a more fragmented online environment. Some states now require age verification to access certain platforms, while others propose restrictions on what content can be seen or shared. These differences can impact everything from streaming and browsing to accessing government portals.

ExpressVPN says its expanded network offers a way to navigate this growing complexity. By providing more server choices, users gain flexibility in how they access the internet, whether they’re trying to view content from their home state while traveling, access region-specific services, or simply maintain faster and more reliable connections.

ExpressVPN US server expansion claims improved speeds for users in all parts of the country. With more nearby options available, ExpressVPN expects users to experience more stable connections and stronger privacy protection, backed by strong encryption and its strict no-logs policy.

As online activity continues to be shaped by where users live, ExpressVPN’s move to establish a server presence in every U.S. state gives users more control over their digital experience, allowing them to connect where and how they need, regardless of location.
