Release date & Where to Watch
Mrs. Brown’s Boys Christmas special will air on BBC One on Christmas Day at 11:05 pm GMT, with the New Year’s episode following on New Year’s Day at 10:30 pm GMT. Both episodes will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Plot
Christmas Special - “Ding Dong Mammy”
It's Christmas in Finglas, and Agnes faces a tough challenge—proving to her family she's not grumpy! Meanwhile, Cathy rallies the community for a heartwarming festive cause, and Buster surprises everyone with a sustainable Christmas tree.
Star and creator Brendan O’Carroll teases a mix of holiday cheer and meaningful moments, including efforts to tackle homelessness in the Finglas area, all while delivering plenty of laughs.
New Year’s Special- “B&B Mammy”
Agnes decides to transform her spare room into a bed and breakfast to kick off the New Year. But chaos ensues when a dangerous escaped criminal takes over her home, holding Agnes, her family, neighbors, and even a brass band hostage.
Guest star Steve Speirs joins the madcap mayhem in what creator Brendan O’Carroll promises is one of the funniest storylines in years. Packed with action and hilarity, this special guarantees an unforgettable start to the year in Finglas!

Mrs. Brown’s Boys is produced by BBC Studios Comedy in collaboration with BOC-PIX for BBC One and iPlayer. It was commissioned by Jon Petrie, with Steven Canny and Josh Cole as Executive Producers. Directed by Ben Kellett, the series is overseen by BBC Commissioning Editor Gregor Sharp and distributed globally by BBC Studios.
