Country music fans have a lot of reasons to get excited throughout the year, as there are several award shows celebrating their favorite artists. If you're looking forward to watching the CMT Music Awards online in 2019, we're here to give you a helping hand.

Every year since 1967, the awards ceremony has been held in Nashville, Tennessee, one of the cities that can be called home to country music. The event is broadcast by CMT, so there's no confusion about where to watch the big show. The CMT Music Awards takes place in June and has done so pretty much throughout all its years, with a brief move to April between 2003 and 2009.

In 2019, the event has been scheduled to take place on June 5th at 8/7C. You still have a few days left to vote so go ahead and do that on CMT's official page, as the window closes on June 4th at 11:59 PM ET.

The list of performers announced for the event features big name in country music, including Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band, and Sheryl Crow, to name a few. Little Big Town will host the show for the second year in a row.

How to Watch CMT Music Awards Online?

Before you get too excited about watching the CMT Music Awards online, you need to know that the live TV platforms and streaming services that feature CMT are all geoblocked. This means that you won't get to watch anything if you have to travel abroad on the day of the show. You see, these platforms know where you are by reading your IP address. Thankfully, IPs are easy to change and you simply have to subscribe to a VPN service to circumvent the blockade. Here's what you have to do.

Topping the list is fuboTV, a single-bundle platform that particularly caters to sports lovers, although they have expanded into more entertainment recently. The bundle is called fubo ($54.99/mo) and it features CMT, so you don't have to look any further. If you want to, however, there are loads of channel packs and premium networks you can add.

The platform gives subscribers access to 30 hours of cloud DVR space. If you need more, you can upgrade to 500 hours of space by paying $9.99 per month. Also, the service supports up to two simultaneous streams, but a third can be added for $5.99 per month. Better prices can be achieved by getting the special packs they have set up for new subscribers. Read up on our fuboTV review for more info on what the service has to offer.

Visit Sling

The top of the list is occupied by Sling TV, a great platform that offers so many chances to customize your plan. There are three bundles you have to pick from when you start, and then you can add packs with channels grouped by interests - like sports, or kids' shows, or comedy - or premium networks. When subscribing to Sling TV, we strongly suggest you go for the Orange + Blue bundle, though, because it features all channels and comes with the best perks, but we'll discuss those in a few seconds.

So, unlike other similar platforms, Sling TV treats cloud DVR as any other add-on you can pay for, which means that if you want to be able to record any content to watch later, you're going to have to pay $5 per month for enough cloud space to record 50 hours of shows. When it comes to watching content on multiple devices at once, it really matters which bundle you picked. That's because the Orange bundle comes with a single stream, but the Blue one comes with three simultaneous streams. If you go with the Orange + Blue bundle, you're going to enjoy four simultaneous streams. Check out TechNadu's Sling TV review for more details.

3. Philo

Overview
Bundles 58 channels ($20/mo)
Customization No extra channel packages or premium channels available
Device support Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, iOS, web browser, via Chome on Android. No dedicated Android app
DVR Unlimited storage space, recordings available for 30 days
Free trial Yes, 7 days
Visit Philo

We also have Philo on the list, which is currently a single-bundle platform. The only bundle is 58 Channels and costs $20 per month. You can't add anything else here - extra packs, premium networks, add-on features -, so that's all you'll be paying each month. This makes Philo an interesting platform because what you see is what you get.

Philo offers users unlimited cloud DVR storage space, which is fabulous news, but you do have to watch them all quite fast because they expire within a month. Then, you should know that Philo supports three simultaneous streams, which is already more than many others do, especially at no cost for them. Check out our Philo review to get all the details you need to make a decision regarding the service.

4. DirecTV Now

Overview
Bundles Plus ($50/mo) and Max ($70/mo) Other Packages - Entertainment ($93/mo), Choice ($110/mo), Xtra ($124/mo), Ultimate ($135/mo), and Optimo Mas ($86/mo)
Customization Channel packs - AT&T TV Now Deportes ($5/mo) and AT&T TV Now Espanol ($15/mo) Premium Networks - HBO (included with Plus and Max), Cinemax ($11/mo or included with Max), Showtime ($11/mo), STARZ ($11/mo) International Bundles - Vietnamese ($20/mo), Brazilian ($30/mo), Korean ($30/mo)
Device support Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs, iOS, Android, browsers
DVR Up to 20 hours, 30 days limit, no expansions
Free trial Yes, 7 days
Visit AT&T TV Now

We also have DirecTV Now on the list, which is a platform that comes with seven bundles to choose from. There are two new bundles, namely Plus and Max, while the other five bundles - Entertainment, Choice, Xtra, Ultimate, and Optimo Mas - have been around for a long time, but they were only recently renamed and given a much higher price. If you want more content, you can add a few Spanish channel packs, three international packs, and several premium networks. You'll find that CMT is present in several bundles, namely Max, Entertainment, Choice, Xtra, and Ultimate.

DirecTV Now comes with a 20-hour cloud DVR feature, but there's no way to expand the feature whatsoever, so you've got to figure it out as so. Another thing we need to mention is the fact that DirecTV Now allows up to two simultaneous streams, so you have to settle with those or pay another $5 per month for a third simultaneous stream. Make sure to read our DirecTV Now review to find out more details about this service.
