Prince William: We Can End Homelessness explores the first year of Prince William's ambitious Homewards program, a five-year initiative to make homelessness "rare, brief, and unrepeated" in the UK. Launched in six locations across the country, the program connects resources with local charities already supporting communities on the ground.Â
The documentary, filmed over 12 months, grants behind-the-scenes access to Prince William's journey as he works to combat homelessness, sharing his vision and experiences in a series of candid interviews.
Throughout the series, viewers witness Prince William seeking guidance from people directly affected by homelessness, engaging in heartfelt conversations that reveal the personal struggles and resilience of those involved.Â
His approach is inspired by his late mother, Princess Diana, who instilled in him and Prince Harry a commitment to charitable work. In a poignant look at his family life, Prince William explains how he talks to his own children about homelessness, fostering empathy and awareness in the next generation.
The two-part series doesn’t shy away from public scrutiny. While some critics argue that structural change is needed beyond royal influence, Prince William acknowledges these challenges, using criticism as fuel to drive his mission forward. "Criticism drives you," he says, committed to showing the world a path to preventing homelessness.Â
The documentary captures a unique perspective on homelessness in the UK, highlighting both the human stories and potential solutions as Prince William pursues his goal of lasting change.
Directed by BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Leo Burley and executive produced by Arron Fellows and production company Mindhouse, the two-part series offers exclusive access to Prince William’s initiative, Homewards, and his team’s work.
