The interview addressed the scandalous accusations Prince Andrew faced regarding his connection with Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre.
The show follows the lead-up to the interview, the interview itself, and its aftermath, which left many unanswered questions and changed their lives forever. Prince Andrew faced criticism for guarding his friendship with the pedophile and for not mentioning Epstein’s victims during an interview. After the interview aired, he revealed he was stepping back from public duties. In January 2022, the Queen removed his military titles. Time and again, Prince Andrew has denied any wrongdoing.

A Very Royal Scandal premieres on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, exclusively on Prime Video in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It is a three-episode series.
Plot
In the first episode of the show, we see that Prince Andrew is trying to prove that he is innocent as he is caught in a big international scandal that threatens not only his own position but also the British monarchy. Newsnight host Emily Maitlis takes action and does everything she can to secure an interview with Prince Andrew to expose the story.
The second episode showcases the obstacles faced by the Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew. Despite much anticipation, Maitlis conducts the interview, but unexpected twists and turns occur. And then, in the final episode, we find that the world was shocked by the interview. Prince Andrew is dealing with the aftermath for himself, his family, and the Royal firm. Meanwhile, Maitlis is thinking about her reputation and the future of her career as the pandemic hits.
