Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo Gets Anime Adaptation

Isekai lovers, 2022 is your year! If you're a fan of the popular genre featuring interesting world concepts, then the goddess Mitama can confirm that Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo is coming soon. The spring, summer, and fall releases in 2022 have announced a lineup of several isekai anime like Reincarnated as a Sword, Isekai Yakkyoku, and more.

That's right, Aoi Akashiro and Hangetsuban Sonsho's religion-based manga series Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo (What God Does in a Godless World) is getting an anime adaptation! Akashiro and Sonshou first began publishing the manga in the Monthly Heroes magazine in May 2019. The publisher issued the fourth compilation volume in September 2021 and will publish the fifth on April 27 in Japan.

Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo Releases Key Visual and More

A release date for Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo has not been set. However, seven key visuals showing off the many faces of the goddess Mitama hanging over our oppressed protagonist Yukito have been unveiled. Additional details about the anime, such as staff, cast, and release date, are yet to be revealed.

The official description for Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou reads:

"Yukito was born as the son of the founder of a cult that worships the mysterious god Mitama, who is said to be omniscient and omnipotent. He is forced to participate in a ritual to become the organization's next guru and loses his life in an accident during the ceremony. The next time he woke up, he was in a strange and different world. Yukito befriends the inhabitants of that world and gradually becomes familiar with their new life.

However, in that world there is a system called "Life Time", whereby people are forced by the Imperial State to commit suicide upon reaching a certain age, and Yukito's new friends are also subject to this system. Yukito is determined to fight the Imperial State to protect his friends, and will even get the help of the one he least expected, someone from his previous world..."
