Invincible season three, episode seven, titled "What Have I Done?", delivers one of the most devastating battles in the show's history—the long-teased Invincible War. Angstrom Levy’s plan to destroy Mark Grayson’s life by unleashing 18 multiversal Invincibles results in catastrophic destruction, pushing our hero to his breaking point.

But with two major character deaths, a shocking betrayal, and the arrival of a terrifying new villain, episode seven sets the stage for an explosive season finale.

How do Rex Splode & Darkwing die?

Angstrom’s army of alternate Invincibles quickly overpowers Earth’s defenders, leading to tragic sacrifices. Darkwing meets his end while saving the Guardians of the Globe by trapping one of the Invincible variants—and himself—in the Shadow-Verse, a nightmarish dimension filled with deadly creatures.

Meanwhile, Rex Splode’s heartbreaking death comes as he makes a last-ditch effort to protect his teammates. Using his own skeleton as a bomb, Rex takes down an Invincible variant at the Teen Team's base, mirroring his comic book fate but with even greater emotional weight.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is Conquest—What does that mean for Mark?

After months of speculation, The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan finally debuts as Conquest, one of the most feared warriors in the Viltrum Empire. Second only to Grand Regent Thragg in power, Conquest has been sent to test Mark’s readiness to serve his people by preparing Earth for conquest. His arrival signals even greater danger ahead for Mark, as Conquest’s comic book storyline is among the most brutal in Invincible’s history.

What Happens to the Remaining Multiversal Invincibles?

Following their three-day rampage, the surviving eight Invincibles regroup at Mark’s home, but their alliance with Angstrom crumbles. When Angstrom orders them to capture Mark, they refuse, turning against him. However, Angstrom outsmarts them, using their own drones to push them through multiversal portals, trapping them in a barren wasteland—one that Mark previously fought on in season two.

The Technicians and Their deal with Angstrom Levy

In the episode’s opening scene, Angstrom escapes death by traveling to a mysterious dimension inhabited by the Technicians—cybernetically enhanced beings who specialize in body modifications. They repair his shattered body, but their help comes at a price. By the end of the episode, Angstrom has failed to uphold his end of their agreement, leading the Technicians to force him into servitude.

New Heroes Enter the Fight: Wolf-Man, Brit, Best Tiger, & more

Episode seven introduces several new heroes from Invincible’s extended universe, including:

Other deep-cut characters like Kid Thor, Knock-Out, and Bolt also appear, highlighting the sheer scale of this battle.

Ka-Hor’s Running Gag Continues

The long-running Invincible joke involving Ka-Hor, the Egyptian mummy trapped in his tomb, returns. This time, a multiversal Invincible crashes into his crypt, giving him a chance to bind his soul to a new host. Unfortunately, his target is too strong, and Ka-Hor is once again left stranded—while the women from season two finally escape.

What’s next for Invincible Season 3?

With Conquest’s arrival, the destruction of Earth, and Mark’s mounting losses, Invincible season three is heading toward an intense and emotionally charged finale. The fallout of The Invincible War is far from over, and with so many players still in the game, Mark’s toughest battles are yet to come.
