Instagram App Will Soon Display Recommended Posts On Your Feed

By Nitish Singh / August 21, 2018

Instagram is set to make some changes to your app feed starting today. The recommended posts will now appear directly on your feed instead of the dedicated tab. The social media app is trying to make the posts as less intrusive as possible and they will only appear after you are done scrolling past unseen posts from people you follow.

The recommendations on the new feed will be based on the videos and photos you like as well as the list of people you follow. The app will show a “Recommended for You” message after browsing past all of your unseen posts to make it easier. The follow button will be available beside each recommended post, allowing you to directly follow the account if you are interested in the content.

Instagram revealed that the new changes are designed “to make Feed the best place to share and connect with the people and interests that matter most to you. Now with recommended posts, you can see even more of what’s being shared by our community.”

The test feature will be rolling out to a large number of users within the next few days. Based on user feedback, Instagram will be making changes to the new feed. Once users who are part of the beta rollout are happy and Instagram feel they should be going ahead with the new feed, it will be rolled out to all users within the coming weeks. we have seen a lot of changes to the app recently with a new IGTV feature which allows users to upload full-length videos. The new changes make browsing recommended posts more intuitive and seamless without needing to switch between tabs.
