Chrome Extension Adds Night Mode For Instagram Web Users

By Nitish Singh / September 15, 2018

If you are a Chrome user who loves using Instagram, an extension is available that can enable dark mode on the browser. Night/Dark modes are easier on the eyes and also drain less battery. The “Night Mode for Instagram” extension is available for download on the Chrome web store and it comes with a toggle button on the browser’s toolbar to enable the feature on or off. By default, it is set to on.

There are other extensions that offer the same features for most but they can be a little erratic. The extension is specifically designed for Instagram and does a very good job at rendering dark mode for the picture heavy website. The pages are consistent and there are no noticeable visual bugs.

Other popular services like YouTube and Outlook are implementing dark mode as an optional feature as well. YouTube has it as a hidden feature while Microsoft is implementing night mode for Outlook in an upcoming update. If you are a fan of the dark mode in your apps and websites, you should definitely try out the Chrome extension.
