Samsung MAX Reaches End of Service
Samsung MAX was designed as a built-in utility for Galaxy users, helping secure internet connections and reduce mobile data usage. Although it was not among Samsung’s most prominent apps, its Google Play listing recorded more than 50 million downloads.
Ahead of the shutdown, users were shown a notice inside the app confirming that June 15, 2026, would be the final day of service. Following the retirement, VPN connectivity and background data-saving functions have been disabled.
No Official Replacement Announced
Samsung has not revealed a direct replacement for Samsung MAX. As a result, users who depended on the app for privacy protection, particularly when using public Wi-Fi networks, will need to look for alternative VPN services.
Several third-party VPN apps remain available through the Google Play Store, offering features such as encrypted connections, broader server coverage, and additional privacy tools. Users are also advised to review providers’ data collection and logging policies before making a switch.
