Key Takeaways
  • PureVPN ChatGPT App: Users can control VPN connections through natural language prompts inside ChatGPT.
  • AI-Powered VPN Access: ChatGPT identifies suitable servers and generates one-click connection links automatically.
  • Privacy Protections Remain: VPN traffic, encryption, and no-logs policies continue operating within PureVPN's native app.

PureVPN has announced the launch of its app within ChatGPT, introducing what it describes as the first VPN service that can be controlled through conversational AI. The new integration allows users to interact with their VPN using natural language prompts instead of manually selecting servers, locations, or connection settings.

The company says the feature is designed to simplify common VPN-related tasks by letting ChatGPT understand a user's goal and recommend the most suitable VPN connection automatically.

VPN Controls Shift From Manual Settings to AI Prompts

Traditionally, VPN users have had to search for the right server location, choose protocols, and adjust settings depending on what they want to do online. Whether accessing region-specific content, securing a connection on public Wi-Fi, or improving gaming performance, the process often involves multiple manual steps.

With the new ChatGPT integration, users can simply describe what they want to achieve. By mentioning "@PureVPN" in ChatGPT, the AI can analyze the request, identify an appropriate server from PureVPN's network, and generate a connection button that launches the native PureVPN application.

According to the company, the workflow follows three steps:

PureVPN says this removes the need for users to understand VPN protocols, server infrastructure, or networking configurations.

Examples of How the Integration Works

The company highlighted several scenarios where the new ChatGPT app can assist users.

For streaming, a user could ask ChatGPT to help access a specific show available on a regional streaming service. ChatGPT would then identify the required region, select a server optimized for video streaming, and provide a button to connect.

Remote workers using public Wi-Fi networks can also request a secure connection through ChatGPT. In response, the AI selects a nearby server with strong encryption settings and generates a one-click connection option.

Gamers experiencing high latency can ask for help improving their connection. PureVPN says ChatGPT can identify a server that offers a more efficient route to gaming hubs and provide a direct connection link intended to reduce lag.

Privacy and Data Handling

PureVPN emphasized that the integration does not provide OpenAI access to users' VPN traffic.

The company stated that ChatGPT serves only as the conversational interface that processes requests and generates connection links. The VPN connection itself, including data routing and encryption, continues to operate within the native PureVPN application on the user's device.

PureVPN also said its independently audited no-logs policy remains unchanged. According to the company, browsing activity, telemetry information, and personal data are not shared with third parties or AI models through this integration.

Availability

The PureVPN app is now available through the ChatGPT Apps Directory.

At launch, the service is available to users in the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.

The company says the launch reflects its vision of making online privacy tools more conversational and easier to use, reducing the need for users to search guides or manually browse VPN server lists.
