Surfshark has announced that it has successfully completed an independent infrastructure security audit conducted by cybersecurity firm SecuRing. The audit confirms that Surfshark’s systems meet high security standards and are designed to protect users from unauthorized access, data breaches, and service disruptions.
The company said this step reflects its ongoing focus on strengthening security and maintaining transparency with users.
According to Surfshark’s Chief Security Officer, Tomas Stamulis, SecuRing carried out a detailed network infrastructure security audit to look for weaknesses that could affect systems or users.
The testing was done by simulating real-world cyberattacks. Auditors did not use any insider information, special access, or privileged credentials. The goal was to check whether attackers could enter Surfshark’s infrastructure, interrupt services, access user data, or exploit misconfigurations.
Stamulis said this approach helped ensure that Surfshark’s systems remain protected even under realistic threat conditions.
The independent assessment concluded that:
One minor issue related to SSL/TLS configuration was discovered during the audit. Surfshark confirmed that this was quickly fixed, and no user data or services were impacted.
Stamulis stated that independent audits play an important role in improving digital security and building trust with users. He added that such reviews help identify even small areas for improvement before they can be misused.
With the completion of this audit, Surfshark says its infrastructure continues to meet high security standards, offering users assurance that their data and online activity remain protected.
The full audit report has been made publicly available by Surfshark.
