His journey leads him to Yeon-joo, whose soulful cooking and guarded personality immediately captivate him—especially her secret recipe that could be the key to his success. But earning it won’t be easy.

After repeatedly turning him down, Yeon-joo finally offers him a deal: he can work in her kitchen—on her terms. What starts as a clash of ideals and cooking styles slowly transforms into a simmering romance as they begin to understand each other’s values, dreams, and past wounds.

Set against the backdrop of Jeonju’s rich food culture, Tastefully Yours is a feel-good drama about taste, love, and the healing power of a shared meal.

What Go Min-Si said About her role in Tastefully Yours?

Go Min-Si shared her excitement about Tastefully Yours being her first romantic comedy, saying, “I’m thrilled to greet everyone with my first romantic comedy in the warmth of spring. Last year, I received the script for ‘Tastefully Yours’—which felt like a birthday gift—and I felt compelled to take part.” (via Soompi)

She was especially drawn to her character, Mo Yeon-Joo, explaining, “What drew me in most was the character Mo Yeon Joo herself—she’s a chef with a strong philosophy, unshakable determination, and a belief in sincerity above all else. She can be stubborn and eccentric at times, but also deeply warm. That made her charming and irresistible to me.”

When asked to describe her character as a dish, Go Min Si compared Mo Yeon Joo to basic kimbap. “While kimbap with fancy ingredients is delicious too, I personally prefer the simple, classic version for everyday eating. I think it’s hardest to make the basics taste truly good—but if you stay faithful to the fundamentals, even something simple can become a beloved classic,” she said.

She also revealed how she prepared for the role: “I took lessons before filming to prepare. In particular, I worked hard to get the Jeonju dialect just right—checking and double-checking the tone and usage. I also started practicing my knife skills well in advance and even learned to cook directly from chefs on set during filming.”

Go Min Si wrapped up with a heartfelt message: “I hope that when viewers are feeling worn out by daily life, they can watch this drama and laugh freely without overthinking. I hope it feels like a warm meal—a simple story about life and love that’s comforting because it’s shared. I’d love for ‘Tastefully Yours’ to be remembered as a feel-good romantic comedy that both stays true to its roots and fills your heart with laughter.”

Why are fans Comparing it to the C-Drama Dating in the Kitchen?

Fans have been drawing comparisons to the Chinese drama Dating in the Kitchen due to the shared premise of a chef falling for a stoic businessman. However, Tastefully Yours brings its own unique flavor—offering a gentler, more heartfelt tone that's deeply infused with Korean culinary traditions, particularly through its authentic Jeonju filming locations.
