Surfshark has announced that its Dedicated IP feature is now available on its Linux GUI application. With this update, Linux users can directly access and manage a dedicated IP address through the app, without relying on manual setups or command-line tools.
The feature was already available on other platforms, and this move expands support to Linux users, offering more control over how they connect to the internet.

Until now, Linux users had limited options when it came to using a dedicated IP with Surfshark. With the latest update, users can now connect to their dedicated IP directly from the Linux GUI app.
This brings Linux in line with other supported platforms and allows users to manage their IP settings more easily. The update is aimed at improving flexibility and making the experience simpler for everyday users.
What is a Dedicated IP and Why it Matters
A dedicated IP is a unique IP address assigned to a single user. Unlike shared IPs, which are used by many people at the same time, a dedicated IP remains the same every time you connect.
This can be useful for services that need a stable and trusted connection, such as online banking, remote servers, or work-related tools. Users may also face fewer CAPTCHAs and verification checks, leading to a smoother browsing experience.
How to Get a Surfshark Dedicated IP on Linux
Dedicated IP is a paid add-on and can be purchased with any Surfshark subscription. To get started, users need to log in to their Surfshark account and go to the “Dedicated IP” section. After purchase, users must select a location for their dedicated IP.
Currently, Surfshark offers dedicated IPs in the following locations:

- Netherlands: Amsterdam

The availability of dedicated IPs depends on location, and some locations may be temporarily unavailable due to limited supply. Surfshark has stated that it will continue to restock IPs as they become available.
Once purchased, the dedicated IP will appear in the “Dedicated IP” tab inside the Linux app. Users can simply select it to connect.
Availability Across Platforms
With this update, Surfshark’s Dedicated IP feature is now available on Linux, Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Apple TV, and browser extensions. The company says this expansion gives users more flexibility and control over their internet connection across devices.
