One hapless sister goes to an unknown island to bring her younger sister, who isn’t responding to her calls and texts, home. But when she reaches there, she finds something surprising- her sister isn’t the one she knew. Instead, she finds a person who is obsessed with an older woman, doing anything she wants. This is the intriguing premise of Netflix’s Sirens.

The show has already released a trailer, and it has a star-studded cast with actors like Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, Meghann Fahy, and more. With hints of a mythological connection, the show is all set to explore the bond between sisters and what they have to overcome in a place that is more than what it looks like.

What is the plot of Sirens (2025)?

Sirens follows Devon, who thinks that her sister, Simone, is too attached to her new boss, Michaela Kell. But when she decides to intervene, she finds that Kell, who leads a cultish luxury life, is a more powerful opponent than she expected. Netflix describes Sirens as an “incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class.”

All five episodes will cover one Labor Day weekend at Kell’s beach estate. Series creator and executive producer Molly Smith Metzler said, “This story has a lot of teeth. There are real moments of drama, and it’s going to make people uncomfortable. Operatic is a word I like to use to describe it. It’s a true dark comedy — and it’s got a Greek mythology vibe.”

Smith Metzler also talked about the relationship between billionaire Michaela and her assistant Simone to Tudum: “Michaela and Simone are friends. They’re trauma-bonded. They’re codependent. But they also really need something from each other. And what they need from each other shifts throughout the show.”

So, is this a murder mystery? Not really. Meghann Fahy says, “Sirens is really a show about relationships and the way people desperately try to outrun their past,”

Who is in the cast of Sirens?

Smith Metzler said to Tudum, “Julianne’s just the dream for this role because she does feel ethereal. She’s from another kingdom. She is not a normie.”

Smith Metzler told Tudum: “I like to talk about Devon as the metronome of the show. She sets the pace, and especially the comedy. Casting Meghann was a gift from the heavens.”

Cloe, Lisa, and Astrid often dress identically and speak as one. This is why they are also called The Fates. All three are devoted to Michaela and her preservation work as well.

Sirens Trailer

The trailer for Sirens begins with Devon DeWitt coming to an island, where Michaela Kell, wife of billionaire Peter Kell lives. She is less than impressed with all the lavish luxury and rich people, who she says are dressed like easter eggs. However, she is here to get her sister, Simone DeWitt, so that they can talk about their father’s early-onset dementia.

Except Simone wants nothing to do with her. She hasn’t replied to her sister's frantic texts, has removed their shared sister tattoos, and in one portion of the trailer says that she doesn’t care about their father because he never cared about her. Also, it looks like she is completely entranced by her boss, Michaela. Simone is her personal assistant, and everything in the house is approved by her.

But Devon isn’t impressed with Michaela, who she thinks is a bad influence on her sister. Her hunch is proved correct when Michaela’s husband, Peter, says that everyone who meets his wife tends to worship her. But Simone says that she is the happiest she has ever been, even when she sheds tears multiple times in the trailer.
