A Premium VPN company NordVPN continues to expand its offering of privacy and safety tools with two upcoming product updates: a new adult site blocking feature added to its Threat Protection suite on Android and iOS mobile devices and the introduction of a dedicated app for Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick. Both launches underline NordVPN’s ongoing commitment to helping users stay safe across all their digital devices.

NordVPN Adult Site Blocking: DNS-Based Filtering for Safer Browsing

NordVPN has added adult site blocking to its Threat Protection suite, allowing users to automatically block adult websites on Android and iOS devices. The new feature uses DNS filtering to prevent access to thousands of adult domains before they load.

Threat Protection already blocks malicious websites, intrusive ads, and online trackers. The new addition extends those protections, adding an extra layer of protection against unwanted content while maintaining the privacy and security benefits of VPN encryption. Users can activate adult site blocking with a simple toggle in the NordVPN mobile app.

Mobile devices are central to our daily lives and protecting users from unwanted content is more important than ever,” says Domininkas Virbickas, product director at NordVPN, to TechNadu. “Our new feature empowers users to take control of their browsing experience, whether they're protecting children on shared devices or simply want to avoid accidentally accessing inappropriate content themselves.

The adult content blocker uses DNS filtering to identify and block flagged domains before they load on the device. Beyond blocking adult content, the feature enhances overall browsing safety by working alongside Threat Protection.

New NordVPN App for Amazon’s Fire TV Stick

In parallel, NordVPN is preparing to launch its new VPN app for Amazon's new Fire TV Stick devices, which run the Linux-based Vega OS. As one of the first VPN providers ready for launch, NordVPN’s goal is to ensure that users can protect their streaming privacy from the very beginning. This is particularly important as the new Fire TV Stick promises to crack down on unauthorized IPTV apps.

Amazon's shift to Vega OS brings notable improvements in efficiency and performance, and we've ensured NordVPN users won't miss a beat during this transition,” says Marijus Briedis, chief technology officer at NordVPN. “We built our new TV app from scratch to deliver the same reliable VPN protection our users expect, optimized for the new system's architecture.”

While the new Fire TV Stick devices are already shipping to customers, VPN functionality requires Amazon's software update. Once the update rolls out, users can immediately download NordVPN from the Amazon App Store.

The app will feature:

Lightweight and built specifically for Linux, the new Fire TV app provides core VPN protection, while NordVPN will continue developing additional features in the future.

Continued Focus on Privacy and Safety

With these two updates, NordVPN is keeping up its momentum of product innovations aimed at making online experiences safer. The adult site blocking feature on mobile and the new Fire TV Stick app both strengthen NordVPN’s position as a company dedicated to user privacy, safety, and digital freedom.
