Leaked Nokia 5.1 Plus Images Show Remarkable Design

By Copley Sutton / July 9, 2018

It's only two days until the world sees the new Nokia phone and consumers can't wait. That's why leaked images of the phone went viral when leaked on Baidu.

At first, not even the launch date was known but it was confirmed to be 11 July thanks to leaks posted on Weibo. What is still not known is what the newest item in the Nokia range will be called. Although popular opinions lead consumers to believe it will either be Nokia X5 or Nokia 5.1 Plus, you'll probably have to wait two days for confirmation.

So what do people think about the details they see in the leaked images? One important detail is that it will have a notched display. Initially, this type of screen with the narrow black notch across the top of the screen was unheard of. It was introduced on an Essential Phone in 2017. After that Apple used it on the iPhone X and soon other brands followed suit such as can be seen on the Nokia X6. So by now, it's a common occurrence. Perhaps consumers made peace with the unorthodox design because it allows for a larger display.

The new Nokia will have an impressive 5.86" HD+ TFT display. If all the leaked information is correct it will also have 19:9 aspect ratio and run on Android 8.1 Oreo. There are a 2.9GHz Octa Core processor and quality cameras: 8MP in the front and 13MP at the back.
