Sky’s partnership with Netflix is finally materializing with the streaming service headed to Sky Q set-top boxes in November. Sky made an official announcement announcing details of plans and how users can sign up for the service.

Existing Sky Q users will be able to get the new Ultimate On Demand pack which can be added to any subscription plan. For an additional £10 a month, users will get access to the standard Netflix plan that allows two HD streams. Sky Q premium users will get access to the Netflix UHD package that offers up to 4k video quality. Up to four streams can be accessed at a time in the package.

The Ultimate On Demand plan will be available as a 31-day rolling contract, and it will also include access to Sky’s set-top box content which is priced at £5 a month. Users who have already subscribed to both services can connect their accounts by logging into their Netflix accounts on their Sky set-top box. However, they will lose out on many exclusive features so both companies have partnered to bring Universal search and curated discovery.

Stephen van Rooyen, Chief Executive Officer, Sky UK, and Ireland, said: “We want Sky Q to be the number one destination for TV fans. Partnering with Netflix means we will have all the best TV in one great value pack, making it even easier for you to watch all of your favorite shows.

Netflix has been steadily growing across the world with the streaming giant expecting a subscriber count increase this year too. Q1 2018 saw 7.4 million which includes include 1.96 million US citizens and 5.46 million international users. The company has been consistent at offering exclusive content and has partnered with media companies all over the world to bring both regional and international content.
