How to Get Discovery Plus for Free in the US?

As Discovery Plus is getting launched in less than a month, you should get all the details about it. As you may already know, the platform comes with a subscription price, but if you get the right deal, you may even watch Discovery Plus for free. 

Discovery Plus will have two subscription options - ad-supported for $4.99 per month or ad-free for $6.99 per month. According to details revealed by the company, seeing as Verizon is a key launch partner, its customers will get Discovery+ for free. 

Of course, not ALL Verizon customers will get Discovery Plus for free, but some will. According to the data we have, Discovery Plus will be available for free for either 6 or 12 months as follows:

12 months Discovery Plus free

• Get More Unlimited - $55 per line per month

6 months Discovery Plus free

• Verizon Unlimited - discontinued, can no longer be added
• Go Unlimited - discontinued, can no longer be added
• Beyond Unlimited - discontinued, can no longer be added
• Above Unlimited - discontinued, can no longer be added
• Do More Unlimited - $45 per line per month
• Start Unlimited - $35 per line per month

According to Verizon, only new Fios and 5G Home Internet customers will get the promotion. Still, Unlimited customers will get the promo regardless if they've been around for a while or they're just signing up for the deal. 

As an added detail, Verizon customers who have already pre-purchased through Discovery Plus will be eligible to get the free months of subscription added to their accounts. Verizon is an exclusive partner for Discovery Plus, so there's no other telco that will have such an offer for now. 

Why Subscribe to Discovery Plus?

Discovery+ promises content from a slew of networks under its umbrella - Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, OWN, Animal Planet, BBC Planet Earth, A&E, Lifetime, History, Travel Channel, Sci, DIY Network, the Dodo, and even Magnolia Network - which belongs to Chip and Joanna Gaines, known from HGTV's Fixer Upper. 

Discovery Plus will feature live streams for these networks, a ton of content from them, and originals. The service will be available on most platforms at launch, but they're still working on striking deals with Amazon Fire TV and Roku.
