Google Maps allows user to edit roadways on both Android and iOS devices

Already Google had killed the Map Maker in the Maps application at the end of March. However, starting this week, a new feature is available to all Google Maps users on both the Android and iOS platforms. The ability to edit roads, which is supposed to replace the previous route.

One of the most requested feature to bring the Google Maps from Map Maker is the option to add and edit roads. This week, the search giant has launched the first part of a refreshed editing flow in Google Maps aimed at road segment editing.

Google said in a blog that "We’re also making sure the new home screen loads fast - so the millions of people in India coming online can discover and share great places, even on spotty connections".

The action bar brings up two options, one is Get Directions and another one is Map Details. The Get Direction include the different modes of transport such as Drive, Public Transport, Walk, and Taxi. All these options aren't new to you, it will be placed on the home screen for easier searchability.

And the Map details brings up options to select different views includes Satellite, Traffic, Transport lines. Besides this, there is also the option to 'Download areas' for offline usage.

The First launch comes with a new selection of UI and the ability to immediately report the issue on multiple roads on desktop Google Maps and the Android version of the app. This options will slowly be rolled out to everyone.you use the feature in Google Map,

Finally, Click the Next option and suggest the changes for the road that you have just selected. Google has started to roll out the update on the Play Store and Apple's App Store.  The new road editing features in your Google Maps app in the next couple of days for all users.
