fuboTV Gets More Entertaining; Adds MTV, Comedy Central, Other Viacom Channels

By Gabriela Vatu / February 21, 2019

Loads of Viacom channels are coming to fuboTV. This means that soon enough, you'll be able to watch the likes of MTV, Comedy Central, and VH1 on fubo TV.

According to the announcement, Viacom and fuboTV have reached a deal to push Viacom's many channels to fuboTV's live TV streaming service. The channels will be split between the two bundles fuboTV boasts with - fubo and fubo Extra.

The deal indicates that fubo, the base package, will include BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Paramount Network, TV Land, and VH1. These will, of course, also be available with fubo Extra. But, in fubo Extra, we'll see some more Viacom channels - BET Her, BET Jams, BET Soul, Logo, MTV 2, MTV Classic, MTV Live, MTVU, Nick Music, Nicktoons, and TeenNick.

Furthermore, in the fubo Latino bundle, they'll also add in Telefe and MTV Tr3s.

"fuboTV is quickly evolving as a major force in the streaming television space, and the addition of Viacom’s media networks as a cornerstone of fuboTV’s entertainment offering demonstrates the power and popularity of our global brands and programming," said Viacom's Tom Gorke, EVP, Head of Distribution and Business Development. "This is a great opportunity to continue to grow our reach and audiences across the OTT landscape and connect with our fans wherever they consume content."

For its part, fuboTV is also pretty excited about the additions, because the entertainment section of the platform was seriously lacking. Of course, since this is a sports-centric platform, it kind of made sense, but it sure annoyed a lot of families who love watching sports but also have to keep the kids entertained with some sort of cartoons, for instance.

"We're very excited to enter into this strategic partnership with Viacom, which continues to make prescient and aggressive moves in the digital media space," said Joel Armijo, fuboTV's CFO. "fubo remains singularly focused on offering sports fans a compelling pay TV alternative with a robust content offering able to serve the viewing needs of the entire household," he added.

fuboTV is a live TV platform with dozens of channels. There are multiple bundles you can choose here, with the main two bundles - fubo and fubo Extra - costing $44.99 and $49.99 per month, respectively. If you want to find out more about it, you can check out our fuboTV review.
