EEC Registrations Suggest Apple Is Set to Launch a New iPad Mini

By Nitish Singh / January 26, 2019

Apple recently registered two new iPad models in Moscow-based Eurasian Economic Commission. According to the product database registrations, it seems like the tech giant is set to upgrade its 2018 entry-level iPad soon and also launch a new iPad mini. The iPad mini-series was quite popular, and it has been quite some time since we got a smaller sized tablet with the company mostly focusing on the 10” and 13” segment.

ECC registrations have revealed information on a number of devices in the past and details about the two iPads was first discovered by MySmartPrice. Both tablets are set to come with the latest version of iOS 12. The two iPads will come with a total of five options to choose from depending on whether you want LTE+Wi-Fi or a Wi-Fi only model and different storage capacities.

Apple is known to release its iPads around March and with two months to go, now is the time to hold off on your iPad upgrade plans until the two new products release. The larger of the two iPads is likely going to retain the 9.7” display, and with last year’s entry-level tablet being priced at $329, we don’t expect to see a major change in pricing. The smaller iPad mini, on the other hand, is going to be cheaper and might be a perfect fit for those looking for an affordable tablet.

The ECC registrations do not reveal any details about the form factor of the upcoming iPads, and it is likely that there won’t be any major changes in design. A face ID sensor is expected on both products, and we may also be treated to the announcement of the next-gen AirPods. With the iOS 12.2 Developer beta all but confirming the next-gen AirPods are going to come with voice controls, we only have to wait a few more weeks to see them in action.
