Acorn TV Streaming Service Reaches Out to Australia and New Zealand

By Bill Toulas / December 12, 2018

Acorn TV, the popular American subscription streaming service that specializes in the deliverance of British content, has just been made available in Australia and New Zealand.

The AMC-owned service plans to expand their worldwide coverage by launching its service in various territories in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Although Australia already enjoyed streaming services such as Kayo Sports and 10 All Access for about a month now, Acorn TV comes to fill in a gap on purely British-language drama series. Although dramas are the niche of Acorn, it is not the only type of content available in the platform. The content categories also include mysteries, comedies, entertainment shows, and in Australia Acorn will also offer Australian shows in the platform.

Acorn TV offers a free week to try it out and see if the exclusive content provided fits your taste, while the standard subscription will set you back $4.99 per month, or $49.99 if paid annually. Subscribers can access the Acorn TV platform and available shows through Roku TV, Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV, iPhone, iPad, or through the web-based interface of the platform. Some of the most binge-worthy shows available in Acorn include the “Sword of Honour”, “The Last Enemy”, and “The Commander”.
