Agatha All Along continues the story of Agatha Harkness, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn, who originally appeared in WandaVision as Wanda's (Elizabeth Olsen) enigmatic neighbor before revealing her true identity as a powerful witch. After Wanda's chaos magic trapped Agatha in a powerless state, this spinoff explores her quest to reclaim her lost powers.
The series trailer, unveiled at D23 2024, promises a deeper dive into Agatha's post-WandaVision journey. Created by Jac Schaeffer, the show’s title was inspired by the beloved song from episode seven of WandaVision.
Agatha All Along went through multiple title changes before settling on its final name. Initially, the show was called Agatha: House of Harkness, which was later changed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos in July 2022. In 2023, it was renamed Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Eventually, with the announcement of the premiere date, the series officially became known as Agatha All Along.

Release date & Where to Watch
Agatha All Along kicked off with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET, exclusively on Disney+. The first five episodes are now streaming, four episodes are left, and the final two episodes will be released on Oct. 30.
Plot
In Agatha All Along, the notorious Agatha Harkness, stripped of her powers by Wanda Maximoff at the end of WandaVision, finds herself trapped in Westview, living as the nosy neighbor Agnes. Her circumstances change when a mysterious goth Teen helps break her free from Wanda's spell, though she discovers she has lost all her magical abilities.
Intrigued by the Teen’s plea, Agatha embarks on the Witches' Road—a perilous magical gauntlet that promises to restore what a witch is missing if they survive. To undertake this journey, Agatha assembles a desperate coven, setting the stage for a thrilling adventure through the world of MCU witchcraft.
The series promises to delve deeper into Agatha's character and her rich comic book history, potentially introducing new Marvel characters, such as Franklin Richards, and exploring connections to other Marvel teams and figures like the X-Men's Firestar and Dr. Doom. Additionally, the show teases a multiversal storyline that could address Wanda’s fate, with hints that the Scarlet Witch might not be gone for good, adding another layer of intrigue to Agatha's quest.
As Agatha and her coven face the dangerous trials of the Witches' Road, they must prove their mastery of witchcraft while navigating references to classic on-screen witchcraft, bringing in horror elements and expanding the mystical side of the MCU.

In Agatha All Along, she forms a new coven after escaping from that reality and finding herself powerless. Executive producer Mary Livanos describes Agatha as both heartfelt and dangerous. Will the Agatha Spinoff of WandaVision be a Prequel or Sequel?
Agatha All Along will serve as a sequel, focusing on Agatha’s efforts to escape the magical trap Wanda placed her in, leaving her powerless. However, the show may also include prequel elements, with flashbacks exploring Agatha’s dark magic development after the Salem witch trials, offering a glimpse into over 300 years of untold history. While the sequel will adhere to the canon established by current and upcoming Marvel movies and Disney Plus shows, the dark comedy tone could align perfectly if Agatha becomes self-aware of her role as the "nosy neighbor." The storyline will likely center on her attempts to break free, potentially teaming up with new and intriguing characters along the way.
How did WandaVision end?
In the WandaVision finale, Wanda (as the Scarlet Witch) strips Agatha of her powers and decides to imprison her in the town of Westview. Wanda transforms Agatha back into Agnes, the nosy suburban neighbor she pretended to be earlier in the series. Wanda then departs, and in a post-credits scene, she is shown living in a secluded mountain cabin with the Scarlet Witch.
While it's still unclear if Elizabeth Olsen will return as Wanda Maximoff in Agatha All Along, the finale offers some clues that a reunion between the two witches might be on the horizon. After losing her powers, Agatha warns Wanda, "You have no idea what you’ve unleashed, you’re gonna need me." Later, when Wanda reverts Agatha to Agnes, she remarks, "I’ll be seeing you, Agnes," to which Agatha replies with a smile, "Not if I see you first, hun.”
Why Is Agatha Getting her own MCU Spinoff?
Agatha Harkness might be one of the oldest characters in Marvel Comics, but her impact on the MCU truly shined in WandaVision, where she played a key role in helping Wanda realize her full potential as the Scarlet Witch. Agatha’s extensive comic book history connects her to numerous Marvel characters who have yet to appear in the MCU, making her the perfect bridge to introduce new heroes and villains into the cinematic universe. Her villainous yet charming, fourth-wall-breaking antics in WandaVision quickly went viral, cementing her popularity and leading Marvel to greenlight her own spinoff, Agatha All Along.
Additionally, expanding the magical side of the MCU is a natural next step for the franchise. With many Marvel heroes and villains still waiting to make their debut, a series like Agatha All Along offers the perfect opportunity to explore this mystical realm. The show could also introduce key characters like Wiccan, a Young Avenger and notable Marvel hero, whose connection to Agatha would make for a powerful and impactful debut. Where was Agatha All Along Filmed?
Principal photography for Agatha All Along began on Jan. 17, 2023, at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with directors Jac Schaeffer, Gandja Monteiro, and Rachel Goldberg overseeing the episodes. Filming also took place in Los Angeles with actress Debra Jo Rupp before returning to Atlanta for two months. Although the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike began in May, Marvel Studios managed to continue filming and planned to address any necessary script adjustments during scheduled reshoots. Actress Aubrey Plaza filmed some scenes in Atlanta while finishing her work on Megalopolis (2024). The production wrapped on May 28, 2023, with final reshoots completed in early Feb. 2024.

The spin-off series Agatha All Along is led by principal writer and executive producer Jac Schaeffer, who also wrote WandaVision. Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Mary Livanos serve as executive producers alongside Schaeffer. The series is directed by Jac Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg, and Gandja Monteiro.
