Be Prepared Football Fans – Premier League Comes To Amazon Prime
- Amazon initially decided to be involved in broadcasting one of the world’s biggest domestic football (soccer) leagues – the Premier League back in January. The streaming giant has finally been granted Premier League TV rights to stream football games from 2019 season and onwards.
- If you have a subscription of Prime Video, you will be able to watch 20 Premier League games from the 2019/2020 season without any extra cost.
- The tech and streaming giant won ‘Package F’ that allows them to broadcast two rounds of fixtures.
For a very long time, it was speculated that either of the streaming or social media giants would be granted Premier League TV rights to broadcast some or majority of the games. According to the recent news, Amazon Prime has won the ‘Package F’ that allows them to air 20 games for their subscribers from season 2019/2020 onwards after a long battle.
The tech and streaming giant launched their initial bid back in January – however, it faces tough competition from the local broadcasters: BTSports and Sky. Regardless, the company has managed to secure all Boxing Day games in the region for its customers. This means that you can now enjoy two rounds of Premier League fixtures comprising of the first-midweek fixture in December and Boxing Day fixture over the Christmas festive period. What’s better is that the subscribers will have the option to watch whatever matches they like – this is something other broadcasters may not offer.

This could mean that Amazon can regain its glory for the upcoming festive period in the region and around the world. People are usually signing up for Amazon Prime to avail the fast delivery and its OTT video platform in the last months of the year. In the same pricing model, not only the customers will have access to thousands of titles in the library but have exclusive access to the fixture of their preference during the time.
