YouTube is now testing the new UI for its Picture-in-Picture mode

The picture in Picture mode is one of the best features on YouTube. It allows you to continue watching the video while browsing for new content. When the Video swiped down get minimized and continues to play on the right side of the screen.

Google is now testing out a few features in this Picture in Picture mode. These changes are appearing in version 12.13.53 of the app and it is different from what they are used on previous one.

The video window is a bit smaller which is a part floating card on top of the background feed. The new design also sees the control over the collapsed video, not only the video getting collapsed also include a play and pause buttons. The user has the option to close the video with a tap instead of swiping it away.

Before, you can quickly expand it back to full screen just by tapping it. But this new User Interface is more useful than the current behavior. In redesigned feature, the more functionality is given to the video is smaller and difficult to watch. Google is testing the feature in smaller places now, the new update is expected to roll out in worldwide users.
