Where to Watch Miss USA Pageant 2024 Live – Streaming Platforms, Contestants, Controversy
Miss USA 2024 is set to be “an exciting event,” taking place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, this August. Originally, the event was planned to be held in Reno, Nevada, with the city securing a three-year deal to host from 2022 to 2024 under the ownership of former national director and Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart.
However, on June 29, 2024, it was announced that the pageant would take place in Los Angeles instead. This would mark the first time since 2007 that Miss USA returned to its original home in California.
In a significant change, the Miss Universe Organization has now opened the competition to women aged 28 and over, breaking the previous age limit of 18 to 27.
This year’s state pageant selection process faced some delays but kicked off in March 2024. Tennessee's first state pageant was held on March 9, and Florida's wrapped up the state pageant season on July 7. This streamlined timeline promises a more efficient lead-up to the grand event.

Miss USA 2023, held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, on September 29, crowned Noelia Voigt of Utah the winner. This was Utah's third title and its first win in 63 years. Streamed on The CW website and app, this pageant was also the last, with a maximum age limit of 28.
The event, hosted by Keltie Knight and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, was the first under the directorship of fashion designer Laylah Rose.
What is the Miss USA & Miss Teen USA Controversy?
The Miss USA pageant has recently been rocked by dramatic changes and controversies. Both Noelia Voigt, who held the Miss USA title, and UmaSofia Srivastava, the reigning Miss Teen USA, have stepped down from their crowns.
Their resignations have sent shockwaves through the pageant community, with both former titleholders accusing the organizers of severe abuse and bullying.
Voigt, who won the Miss USA crown in September 2023 and competed in Miss Universe later that year, announced her resignation on Instagram, urging her followers to prioritize their mental and physical health over any title. She didn’t delve into specifics but emphasized, “Never compromise your physical and mental well-being. Our health is our wealth.”
Just two days after Voigt’s announcement, Srivastava also revealed her departure, citing disagreements with the pageant organization. It's worth noting that in the pageant’s 72-year history, no other contestant had ever relinquished their crown.
