How to Watch ‘The Rookie’ Season 3 Online – Live Stream on ABC

By Gabriela Vatu / December 31, 2020

The third season of The Rookie is nearly here, and we couldn't be happier to see Nathan Fillion back in the role of John Nolan. Let's go figure out how we can watch The Rookie online.

The Rookie is a series that premiered back in 2018, and we're finally getting the third season. It's been a bumpy ride due to the pandemic, and production has been halted temporarily due to some people getting sick, but it's bound to get back on track at full speed after the winter break.

Nonetheless, they are far enough ahead that we're getting plenty of episodes from the first season, and we are frankly quite eager to finally get some sense of normalcy as we watch these shows. Every to be seeing exactly how many episodes the new season will have, but previous ones had 20 of them, and we expect a similar number this time around.

The Rookie follows John Nolan's story - a 45-year-old man from Folsom, Pennsylvania, who decides to start a new career as a police officer. Obviously, at his age, he's the oldest rookie on the team, so it's a bit of a learning curve for him, as well as a bunch of hilarious situations. The first season is going to incorporate some of the big topics from the past year, such as police brutality and the black lives matter movement, so we're going to get a little bit more personal.

The third season will Star Nathan Fillion, Mekia Cox, Titus Makina Jr., and Richard T. Jones, as well as Brandon Routh, who'll be joining the show as an LAPD veteran of 11 years.

If you're hoping to catch up with the new episodes of The Rookie, you will need to have a live TV subscription, which will give you access to ABC live and plenty of other channels as well. One of the best platforms we turn to that feature ABC is Hulu, which has a single bundle of networks.

Hulu features dozens of networks in the main bundle. You can also customize your subscription by adding extra channel packs and premium networks to your account and add-ons to expand the cloud DVR storage space capacity or the number of simultaneous streams that are allowed on your account.

One really cool thing about subscribing to the Hulu Live TV service is that you will get access to the On-Demand library as well, so you'll have two platforms to enjoy at the same time. Hulu works on loads of devices, including iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV, gaming consoles, and more.

While Hulu is an absolutely fabulous platform, there are other services that you could be watching The Rookie on as well.

fuboTV is a great option for those who want to watch TV online, as it features about one hundred networks in the main bundle. You can get that one as it is or part of several plans that include extra channel packs and premium networks, as well as add-ons at discount prices. Note

ABC is a channel that broadcasts in select markets only, so depending on where you live, you may not even be able to watch it with a live TV service. If you use a VPN, however, you will be able to fix the problem, and you can find out exactly how to do this by continuing reading.

How to Watch The Rookie From Anywhere?

If you're going to watch The Rookie online, there are quite a few ways to do that even when you travel abroad, but you do need to keep in mind that it's not going to be as easy as it is when you are in the United States. Live TV platforms and streaming services are all geo-blocked, which means that you will need a VPN to access them.

A VPN can route your internet connection through a server of your choice and assign a new IP address to your device, which will make it appear as if you are in a different country. Our recommendation is to use ExpressVPN, which is easily one of the best we tested. It also has loads of servers to choose from, so you can find one that suits your needs fairly easily.

You need to subscribe to ExpressVPN (49% OFF) and get the app for your device before finding a server located in the United States so you can connect to it. Once that connection is made, however, you can load Hulu in your browser or launch the app on your device and start streaming The Rookie on ABC.

On ExpressVPN you can get 30 days for free when signing up. If you have any issues with the service, you can always ask for a refund.

Can I Binge-Watch The Rookie?

If you're hoping to catch up with the previous seasons of The Rookie, you can also do this by checking out the episodes on the ABC website. Only some of them are available to stream for free, but you can definitely head over to Hulu, where you find all the seasons that have aired thus far and also the new episodes as they start streaming. Expect to find them the day after the episode goes live.

Can I Purchase The Rookie Episodes?

If you want to buy episodes of The Rookie to watch them offline or whenever you feel like it, that is also something that you can do. You can head over to platforms like Google Play, YouTube, iTunes, Microsoft Store, Vudu, and Amazon Prime, and check them all out just in case there are any discounts that you might want to take advantage of.
