By Gabriela Vatu / August 22, 2019

We don't know about you, but we are pretty big fans of The Rock, so watching Ballers is just another way to have fun watching Dwayne Johnson. After a year-long wait, season five is finally landing on screens everywhere.

Ballers is an American comedy-drama that focuses on Spencer Strasmore, a retired NFL player who tries to get in the game of financial managing other NFL players. Through the seasons, his roles change a bit, and he takes on the league, trying to make a change, and how things are handled. So far, for the fifth season, only eight episodes have been announced, compared to the nine or 10 from previous seasons. According to the schedule, they'll be running through to the middle of October.

If you're just as eager as we are to watch Ballers on HBO, you can start tuning in on August 25th to watch the season premiere. Let's see exactly how you can watch this show.

How to Watch Ballers Live Online From Anywhere?

In the past few years, it has become easier than ever to watch content online. When it comes to streaming services and live TV platforms, however, you need to take extra precautions when traveling abroad, because licensing deals have prevented these companies from allowing the broadcast to take place outside of the United States. If you often travel abroad, you're going to need to connect to a VPN to circumvent the situation.

Can You Watch Ballers on HBO's Website?

Absolutely, that is something that you can do because you can enjoy any new content HBO adds to its platform. It's not going to be a live stream like you are accustomed to, but you do get to watch the shows immediately as they start airing. We'll get into that immediately.

How to Watch Ballers Without Cable?

The world is advancing, and watching content online is something that we all do and enjoy doing. Live TV platforms and streaming services have risen in the past few years as a response to people's desire to use the internet for a specific purpose. Live TV platforms, for instance, are cheaper than cable plans are, and there are also no contracts involved, so you can unsubscribe whenever you no longer enjoy the service. Furthermore, you get the benefit of watching content anywhere you go without any restrictions, as long as you have as little as a smartphone and an internet connection. Let's see what platforms can help you watch Ballers.

HBO Now and HBO Go - We discuss an HBO show without mentioning its own platforms. Both of these feature the exact same content, but they have different ways to login. While you can subscribe directly to HBO Now, for HBO Go you absolutely need credentials from your TV provider. The subscription price is $14.99 per month and you can either pay it to your cable provider or directly to HBO.

Amazon Prime - Amazon Prime clients get a lot of perks by simply subscribing to the service, including free movies to watch, free music and eBooks, and so on. The ability to add HBO to your subscription is also among those perks, and you can simply pay a single bill instead of multiple ones throughout the month.

Hulu - You can also add HBO to your Hulu subscription. Those come in two options because you can add HBO whether you have a video-on-demand subscription or a live TV one. If you go for the live TV plan, you should know there is only one bundle of channels, and you can customize by adding a couple of channel packs and the few premium networks, including HBO. If you go for the video-on-demand subscription, on the other hand, you can only add premium networks.

DirecTV Now - we also have DirecTV Now on the list of services that you can subscribe to HBO with. The platform features seven bundles in total. Two of them, namely Plus and Max, which cost $50 and $70 per month, both feature HBO by default. If you choose any of the other five bundles, which have been around for a while but received a price upgrade and then a new name earlier this year, namely entertainment Choice, Xtra, Ultimate, and Optimo Mas, you can add HBO for $15 per month. Other ways to customize your plan are by adding channel packs featuring Spanish or international channels, and premium networks.

PlayStation Vue - We conclude our list with PlayStation Vue, which is a great service that provides users with access to enough Cloud DVR storage space for 500 programs and five simultaneous streams, and no additional cost. There are four bundles that you can choose here - Access, Core, Elite, and Ultra. In the Ultra bundle, you will find HBO, and you only have to pay $84.99 for the collection, which includes dozens of TV channels, HBO and Showtime. If you're going to choose any of the other bundles, you can still add HBO for $14.99 a month. Other channel packs are also available.

Can You Binge-Watch Ballers?

Yes, that is something that you most definitely can do, because you can find all the Ballers episodes directly on HBO's platform. In order to access these platform, you're going to need credentials so you can prove that you're paying for HBO access. More specifically, on HBO Go you can use credentials from your cable provider or from DirecTV Now to log in. If you're going to use HBO Now, you can either subscribe directly to HBO, which means you already have all the details you need, or you can use your credentials from Hulu, PlayStation Vue, or Amazon Prime to login.

There is also the option of purchasing the episodes or the full seasons from platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, and Microsoft Store, so you can have them in the long term.
