The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Release Date Revealed
Isekai fans are in for some exciting news; the release date for the second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero anime series has finally been announced! One of the main reasons that Shield Hero gained momentum as a fresh new Isekai anime series is its protagonist, Naofumi. Like most other Isekai protagonists, Naofumi arrives in another world and is excited for whatever adventure awaits him. However, the character goes through quite the learning curve in the new world he finds himself in.
The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Release Date and More
The official website for The Rising of The Shield Hero has announced that the second season of the anime series will release on April 6, 2022. The series will premiere on the AT-X channel on the date mentioned above, at 10 PM (5 AM PT). In addition, the series will also run on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and BS11.
Fans can check out the first series on Crunchyroll and Funimation. The upcoming second season of Shield Hero is also slated to air on Crunchyroll. The platform also features the English dubbed episodes and the Russian, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese dubs.
Crunchyroll announced in March 2021 that the second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero would be available to users in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
The official description for The Rising of the Shield Hero series, on Crunchyroll, reads:Â
"Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?"

Furthermore, the Rising of the Shield Hero cast has made a new addition! Voice actress Kana Hanazawa will voice the new character of Ost Horai, who is the manifestation of the Spirit Tortoise in its humanoid form, in the upcoming season.
