A thrilling new psychological drama is about to shake up your screens—The Game has officially set its premiere, and fans of twisty, dark mysteries are already buzzing. With Jason Watkins and Robson Green leading the cast, this high-stakes thriller is being billed as a “cat-and-mouse” ride unlike anything we've seen on Channel 5 in recent memory.
The show, originally known as Catch You Later, has kept its cards close—until now. And with the title locked in and buzz growing fast, it’s clear this one’s playing for keeps. The cast reunites two British TV heavyweights for the first time in years, while also bringing Ackley Bridge star Sunetra Sarker into the mix. The working title may have changed, but the intensity hasn’t—Channel 5 is clearly aiming to match the addictive drama of hits like The Feud and The Wives.
Curious about the storyline, cast lineup, release plan, filming location, and how to watch it from anywhere in the world? We've got everything mapped out. Keep checking back—we’re updating this guide constantly as new clues drop and the game heats up.
The Game kicks off on Channel 5 at 9 pm on Monday, May 12, 2025. The gripping four-part thriller will continue nightly at the same time, leading up to an intense finale on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Retired detective Huw Miller is trying to enjoy the quiet life—until his new neighbour, Patrick Harbottle, stirs up memories of a chilling unsolved case. Years ago, Huw failed to catch the elusive Ripton Stalker, a serial killer who taunted him with the phrase, “catch you later.” When Patrick echoes those very words, Huw becomes convinced his past has moved in next door.
What follows is a tense psychological game, as the lines between intuition and obsession begin to blur. According to the official synopsis, “What follows is a high-stakes game of psychological chess between the two neighbours as Huw’s world begins to crumble around him. Unable to bear the guilt of the stalker taking another victim under his nose, Huw risks everything to unearth the truth. But has he set his sights on the right man, or is his obsession pushing him ever closer to the brink?”
Speaking to Deadline, Watkins praised the “cat and mouse dynamic." Green expressed (via Radio Times), “The way Patrick says ‘catch you later’ triggers something within Huw, who thinks he has his man... Very quickly you realise there is a game being played, but is Patrick a stalker and is Huw on the right track or spiralling out of control psychologically?”
Green also revealed that the series allowed him to exercise “an acting muscle” he hadn’t used “in 40 years, and described the drama as “very dark and edgy.” As more unsettling clues surface—including the death of Huw’s former neighbour Frank—one question remains: is Patrick guilty, or is Huw being hunted by his own mind?
