Paramount has unveiled the initial trailer for Smile 2, the follow-up to the widely acclaimed 2022 psychological supernatural horror film. The upcoming movie delves into the story of a pop star named Skye Riley, portrayed by Naomi Scott, who descends into madness after being afflicted by a malevolent curse, depicted as a haunting and unsettling smile.

As part of a viral promotional campaign, on June 8, 2024, the @SkyeRileyNation Instagram account started teasing the upcoming era of popstar Skye Riley. On June 13, Bloody Disgusting noticed billboards promoting a new album by Skye Riley called "Skye Is Limitless." The album was set to be released on June 18. A song named "Blood on White Satin" was released through Interscope Records, and it was featured in the first trailer of the film. The second single, "Grieved You," was released today.

Plot

Upcoming global pop star Skye Riley starts to experience frightening and unexplainable events just as she's about to start a new world tour. Dealing with growing terrors and the stresses of fame, Skye must confront her difficult past to take back control of her life and prevent it from completely unraveling.

Principal photography for the project occurred from January to March 2024, spanning across the Hudson Valley region in New York. The primary filming locations included the cities of Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, and Wappingers Falls, as well as Albany and New York City.
