Sling TV Arrives on Amazon Echo Show Devices
- Amazon announced it will offer support for the Sling TV app on its Alexa-enabled Echo devices.
- Support will soon be rolled out for both the existing Echo Show devices and the new Echo Show 15.
The recent Amazon announcement event revealed that several fresh features would be available on Amazon Alexa devices, including support for Sling TV, which is coming to all Echo Show ones. The new, wall-mounted Echo Show 15 will also include apps like Sling TV.
The live TV and streaming app will be found on all existing Amazon Echo Show devices, including the newest one, Echo Show 15. This device supports Alexa voice commands for streaming apps like Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video, and Sling TV subscribers will soon also be able to access and stream content using the "Alexa, open Sling TV" voice command.
Of course, you can add this app to your Echo Show device, but you need to be a Sling TV customer to access the channels and on-demand content. So if you are not one yet, you can check the prices and packages and then subscribe to Sling TV for as low as $35 a month for the main packages or $50 a month for a comprehensive bundle (it currently runs discounts, so you can find the two main ones at $10 for the first month at the moment, and the bundle for $20 for the first month).
The platform launched a beta version for its streaming app earlier this year, and it was available for Amazon Fire TV then, expecting to roll out to other devices in the future. The new version incorporates some significant design changes and upgrades the personalization engine to help the customers discover the content more easily, and it could be available for Echo Show sometime soon.
So besides watching YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix, get ready to watch Sling TV as well on all your Amazon Echo Show devices in the US soon. Moreover, considering the Echo Show 15 is a 15.6-inch, 1080p HD touchscreen, has a microphone, front-facing camera, and side speakers, watching movies and shows will be a delight, so the addition of Sling TV can only contribute to the appeal of the device.
