DarkStorm Hacktivists Claimed a DDoS Attack on NSO Group Website
- The hacktivist group DarkStorm claimed a DDoS attack on the NSO Group website.
- The claim of targeting the Israeli cyber-intelligence firm boasted of continuing the attack for hours.
- The operational and financial impacts of the alleged attack remain unknown.
The hacktivist group known as DarkStorm reportedly targeted NSO Group, the Israeli cyber-intelligence firm, with a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack earlier this week.
The DDoS attack disrupted access to the company's website, rendering it inaccessible for a period of time, according to a post by HackManac, a repository of dark web intelligence.
A spokesperson from NSO told TechNadu, “We are not familiar with the claims mentioned.”
The incident brought NSO Group under scrutiny, adding to the controversies surrounding its surveillance technologies.
The attack claims come during a globally heightened concern over cybersecurity risks targeting critical services, private entities, and state-related organizations.
Last month, the hacktivist group Mr. Hamza claimed a DDoS attack on the U.K.’s MI6 and Europe's ENISA. Yet, upon later verification, both government threat intelligence portals were operational upon later verification.
