Nokia 6 is set to get its Android 7.1.1 update now

Finally, Nokia starts rolling out Android 7.1.1 update in Hong Kong and Taiwan in its Nokia 6 device. Already the device runs on Android 7.0. It is packed with May's Android Security Patch along with Android 7.1.1. This update was rolled out to China users in April and with the security update arriving early in May.

The update weighs around 1.85GB in size which brings Android 7.1.1 along with some new features such as a bunch of new emojis, GIF support and also home screen app shortcuts. Nokia also includes some bugs fixes for USB and 4G network.

HMD Global made an official statement on this issue says:

"Nokia 6 in Hong Kong and Taiwan received Android 7.1.1 update and also the May security update today. We are delivering our promise to provide monthly security updates and also regular systems updates. China version was updated to 7.1.1 already in April and also received the May security update early this week.”

Nokia 6 was unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2017 together with Nokia 3 and 5. It sports a 5.5-inch touchscreen display, a 1.1GHZ octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB o RAM. On the Camera specification, the rear end will be 16MP and 8MP on the front shooter. It is expected to come with a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with fast charging capacity.

The Android 7.0 Nougat smartphones have USB 2.0 port for connectivity, the fingerprint sensor on the front side, stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos audio enhancement.

Notably, you should charge your device up to 50 percent before installing the update on your mobile. Reportedly, the device also carrying the latest SoC's from Qualcomm in the form of the Snapdragon 835 and 660 coupled with camera suite.

The HMD Global is entering the Indian Market with the launch of Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and revamped version of Nokia 3310 are expected to announced by the company on May 8.
