KPop: Demon Hunters follows three global KPop stars- Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo). They are all part of a girl band who dazzle their fans during the day and transform into demon hunters at night with one mission- to keep their fans safe from supernatural threats.

While things initially seem to be going well for them, their biggest challenge arrives in the form of a rival boy band who are stylish, seductive, and everything they fight against- demons. So, will the girls be able to save their fans against this major threat?

The interesting premise is coupled with groovy songs written by IDO, Vince, Danny Chung, KUSH, EJAE, Lindgren, Mark Sonnenblick, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, and Daniel Rojas. Marcelo Zarvos has scored the film. After all, an animated film on KPop needs to have hit songs.

The original songs have been performed by REI AMI, Danny Chung, Neckwav, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, Andrew Choi, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee, and Lea Salonga. There’s also an original song performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE.

Director Maggie Kang was giddy about these collabs as it allows for the film to be rooted in the world of KPop. She expressed to Netflix, “I also couldn’t be more thrilled about our collaboration with Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE. It really legitimizes our film and songs in the K-pop world. It’s proof that we achieved what we set out to do, which is make a real K-pop group.”

Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE revealed that they loved being a part of this animated film because “it brings together K-pop and animation — two very creative worlds!
