How to Watch House of the Dragon Episode 9 Online (The Green Council) From Anywhere

By Lore Apostol / October 16, 2022

The next episode of the House Targaryen spin-off series will air soon, and you will be able to stream Episode 9: The Green Council online quite easily, just like you do with all your other favorite content, even on the go or while traveling abroad. You will find all the information you may need below, such as the premiere date and hour, cast, and plot. This being said, let's see when, where, and how to watch House of the Dragon Episode 9: The Green Council online from anywhere in the world.

The spin-off series is based on George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood novel and serves as a prequel and focuses on the Targaryen civil war that took place about 200 years before the events depicted in Game of Thrones. However, it seems the story is rather set around the early life, adventures, misdeeds, and marriages of Prince Daemon Targaryen, called "one of the biggest rogues in the entire history of Ice and Fire." Spoilers ahead!

In the first episode, Queen Aemma died, and Princess Rhaenyra was the named heir to the throne, making Daemon envious. In Episode 2, Daemon was banished, and the King refused Lord Corlys' marriage proposal, marrying Lady Alicent Hightower. Episode 3 saw the birth of Alicent's firstborn son and Daemon's impressive display of defiance as he took on the Crabfeeder himself in the Stepstones.

In Episode 4, Daemon tried to seduce Rhaenyra in a brothel to create rumors that would ease his marriage to his niece. In Episode 5, Daemon killed his wife, Lady Rhea, to inherit Runestone and be free, and Rhaenyra married Laenor Velaryon. In Episode 6, The Queen and Ser Criston Cole allied against Rhaenyra and her three bastard sons, and Lady Laena killed herself by Vaghar's fire while unable to deliver her baby.

In Episode 7, Rhaenyra and Daemon united against Alicent and her supporters and were privately married in the Old Valyrian tradition. Episode 8 took us to King's Landing and showed a new side of Daemon as he exhibited empathy towards his dying brother and support towards his wife, with a heartwrenching ending as Viserys died after publicly supporting Rhaenyra's son as the next Lord of the Tides.

The Green Council can only mean Otto and the Queen will take over again after a brief reconciliation moment with the Driftwood side of the family since she misunderstood what Viserys said about Aegon's dream of ice and fire on his deathbed. You can see more details in the episode preview below.

This means Paddy Considine is no longer on the show, and also, several roles were recast: Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II, Ewan Mitchell as Aemond, Phia Saban as Helaena, Harry Collett as Jacaerys, and Elliot Grihault as Lucerys.

This season has 10 episodes, and one new episode a week will air every other Sunday in the US and Canada (until the season finale, which airs on October 23) and on Mondays in the rest of the countries.
