The legacy of the High School Musical continues with the third season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which is set to premiere soon on Disney+.Â
The show made its debut in November 2019, along with the launch of Disney+, and it was inspired by the same-named Disney franchise that featured Zach Effron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale, to name a few. A second season premiered in May 2021 after fans rallied around the show, asking Disney to continue making the show. Thankfully, they listened, and we're now getting the third season of The Series. Of course, the whole production has been scrutinized due to the drama between Olivia Rodrigo and her ex, Joshua Bassett, something we've all heard about in Olivia's songs. The third season, however, is taking us further into the story of this new generation of Wildcats. While we may not know much about the plot, we do know that some Disney alumni will join the season, including Corbin Bleu (in a cameo as himself), Jason Earles (as Dewey Wood ), Meg Donnelly (as Val), as well as Jessee Tyler Ferguson (as an old family friend of Nini), JoJo Siwa (as Madison, a Camp Shallow Lake alum), and Olivia Rodrigo will return as Nini.
The cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 includes Joshua Bassett as Ricky, Sofia Wylie as Gina, Matt Cornett as E.J., Julia Lester as Ashlyn, Dara Reneé as Kourtney, Frankie Rodriguez as Carlos, Saylor Bell Curda as Maddox, and Adrian Lyles as Jet.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus on July 27, 2022, at 3 a.m. ET, and will feature 8 episodes.Â

Disney Plus does not offer any free trials right now, but there are still some ways you can enjoy High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 for free. In order to do this, however, you'd have to get Disney Plus as a perk to a different service. Verizon subscribers, for instance, will get Disney Plus for free with the Unlimited Plan, after which the service will cost $7.99 per month.Â
Disney Plus is also sometimes offered as a perk for those who sign up for Amazon Music Unlimited or the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but it's unclear when the campaign would restart.Â
