Death is prowling again in Final Destination: Bloodlines and a group of people will meet their maker again. Even though the film will follow the successful formula of the previous films where no one can really cheat death, this time there’s something different in this one.Â
The franchise that began as a script for the X-Files became a box-office success thanks to its simple but creative premise where death simply can’t be cheated. Also, many appreciated the fact that death was depicted not as a creature but as an unstoppable force of nature. 2011’s Final Destination 5 kickstarted interest in the franchise again, however, it has been lying dormant for more than a decade now.Â

Release date and Where to WatchÂ
Final Destination: Bloodlines will be released in theaters on Friday, May 16, 2025. The film will be screened in IMAX.Â
What is Final Destination: Bloodlines About?
Not many plot details are available, but it has been reported that Final Destination: Bloodlines will shake up the franchise by altering the rules we are familiar with. Tribune reported that the plot will revolve around Stefani, an 18-year-old, who has nightmares about dying in a 1960s tower accident.Â
However, it will be later revealed that the visions are about her grandmother who has been cheating death for more than 50 years. However, the premonitions mean that death is still after her. But there’s another twist- Stefani finds out that her grandmother defying death means that the people who shouldn’t be alive are still here.Â
This means that death is coming to take what it’s due and it will also take the bloodlines of all the survivors, who technically shouldn’t even exist. Additionally, it has been reported that the film will focus on emergency workers and first responders as well.Â

Will There be a Final Destination 7?
It has been reported that a seventh Final Destination film is in development. However, there has been no official confirmation yet.Â

Final Destination: Bloodlines began filming in Vancouver in March 2024 and it wrapped in May 2024.Â
