Encouragement of Climb Next Summit Release Revealed
Yama no Susume / Encouragement of Climb has just announced the release of its upcoming season. The upcoming fourth season of the series has been titled "Next Summit." In addition to the release, a new key visual for the series has also been released. Yūsuke Yamamoto is returning to direct the anime at 8-Bit, and Yuusuke Matsuo is returning as the character designer.
Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star magazine had teased in December 2019 that the anime franchise would have a "new project." Read on to know everything we know about the upcoming project.
Encouragement of Climb Next Summit Release and More
The new season based on Siro's mountaineering-themed manga series Yama no Susume Next Summit / Encouragement of Climb Next Summit will premiere in October 2022. The season will air the franchise's first 30-minute series! More good news has also been confirmed that "Next Summit" will comprise 12 episodes.
The first season in 2013 was aired as a five-minute series, while the second season in 2014 and the third season in 2018 were aired as a 15-minute series. The first four episodes of Next Summit will be compilations from the episodes from the past series with newly-produced short stories, and all-new episodes will be available from its fifth episode.
The previously-announced returning cast members include:
- Yuka Iguchi as Aoi Yukimura
- Kana Asumi as Hinata Karaue
- Yōko Hikasa as Kaede Saitō
- Yui Ogura as Kokona Aoba
- Nao Tōyama as Honoka Kurosaki
In addition, it was announced that Emiri Iwai would play a new character: Koharu, the red-haired mountain-climbing club president at the school Aoi and the others attend. The series' Yama no Susume Tankentai (Exploration Party) program featuring Emiri Iwai will be streamed on the KADOKAWA Anime Channel on YouTube.
The program will visit places that appear in the anime series and other related places. In its first episode to be available in the middle of May, Yuko Gibu, who plays Hikari Onozuka, will be the guest and explore Hanno City in Saitama Prefecture.
