Upcoming Apple iPhone Names Revealed in a Last Minute Leak

By Nitish Singh / September 12, 2018

A product sitemap XML file on the official Apple website has leaked the names of the upcoming iPhones. The website confirmed the launch of the upcoming iPhone XS, XS Max (with up to 512GB of storage), and XR. Other products like the upcoming Apple Watches, accessories, AppleCare support subscriptions have also been listed by the tech giant. This has happened only a few hours before Apple's Media Event, scheduled to take place at 10 am PDT.

The all-new and somewhat complicated phone names deviate from the current naming scheme which includes a number. The tech giant may completely drop the numbering system according to many in favor of the X-generation naming scheme.

Users have also spotted details about the upcoming Apple Watch devices with the XML file mentioning the dimensions of the smartwatches. The new watch bands are wider than the previous generation with 40mm and 44mm sizes listed officially. The current generations smartwatches measure at either 42mm or 38mm. While the file has been pulled by the website administrators, users managed to grab screenshots in time.

The XML file also leaked the colors of accessories. The silicone cases for the new devices will be available in midnight blue, white, black, stone, and Product RED. If you want premium leather cases, you can choose from black, Product RED, green, Cape Cod blue, and peony pink. There are no cases listed for the iPhone XR which may indicate that might be a cheaper iPhone X device that was heavily rumored and may release after the XS and XS Max sales are live.

The new iPhone X devices are just hours away from an announcement and we can not only expect new phones from Apple but also new iPads and MacBook devices with updated hardware and new features. iOS 12 should also go live in a few days once the devices are available.
