Apple Introduces Display Replacement Program for iPhone X Owners

By Nitish Singh / November 12, 2018

According to Apple, some iPhone X devices in the market may have a faulty component that can cause issues in the display module. Affected displays may not respond properly to touch inputs or react even when a user does not touch their devices. Users who are facing such issues have been asked to contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider at the earliest for a free replacement.

This is not the first time Apple has had to introduce a replacement program for its phones. Earlier this year, iPhone 8 owners were offered a logic board replacement program due to manufacturing defects. It is unknown how many iPhone X devices are affected by the display issue as the manufacturer did not reveal any numbers.

Affected users can choose to connect with an Apple Authorized Service Provider, an official retail store or online support for mail-in service via the Repair Center. Users need to back up their devices to iTunes or iCloud prior to submitting their phones, and you can use the official guide to familiarize yourself with the process.

If a device is damaged by sources that are not related to the faulty component, additional costs may be incurred for repairs. Devices with cracked displays will not be accepted before the issues are resolved. The repair process may be restricted to specific countries or regions, and the official replacement program website has a drop-down menu listing all the regions that are eligible for the offer.

If a device has already exceeded its standard warranty coverage, it will not be eligible for the program. Additionally, users who have already sought support for display issues listed by the manufacturer are eligible for a refund.
