After the update of Android 7.1.2 on Pixel and Nexus devices, the users are unable to use their fingerprint scanners the report says. It is a widespread issue.

Google must replicate the bug before trying to find a solution. Luckily, there are many Pixel and Nexus users who have taken it to the user community forums to complain that their fingerprint sensors are not working any longer after upgrading to Android 7.1.2 Nougat.

After they have deleted all the fingerprints stored on the phone and did a hard reset, the fingerprint sensors on the affected Nexus and Pixel handsets refused to start working again.

This moment, the issue affects both the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones as well as the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Google does not currently have any solution to this issue.

Still, it is not clear information of what exactly caused this problem but everyone is expecting this issue to be solved as soon as possible. The final update of Android 7.1.2 has been rolling out to select devices for a bit over a week.
