ExpressVPN has introduced two new tools, Network Insights and Secure Device Assistant, designed to make online privacy more transparent and easier to manage. The updates aim to give users a better understanding of their VPN sessions and device security at a glance.
Network Insights Offers Real-Time Connection Data
The Network Insights feature, currently available on iOS, provides real-time information about users’ VPN connections directly on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
Users can now view:
- Upload and download speeds
- Amount of data transferred
- VPN connection status
All of this can be monitored without opening the app. Additionally, the feature allows for quick reconnection with a tap, serving as both a status indicator and a shortcut back into ExpressVPN.
Even when the VPN is not actively connected, Network Insights remains visible, letting users easily check their status or reconnect when needed.
Secure Device Assistant Improves Privacy Health
The Secure Device Assistant is available on both Android and iOS and functions as a built-in privacy health checker. It runs quick diagnostics to ensure that:
- The app and operating system are up to date
- Key privacy protections are enabled
- Optional settings that can boost privacy are highlighted
If any settings or updates need attention, the assistant alerts users and provides clear steps to fix them. This helps maintain strong protection with minimal user effort.
