NordVPN, one of the most popular virtual private network (VPN) providers, has publicly distanced itself from a viral tweet made by internet personality Destiny, who referenced the company in a post about the recent Texas floods. The VPN provider has clarified that there is no existing sponsorship deal between the company and Destiny and has stated that it is currently reviewing the misuse of its trademark.

The controversy began after Destiny, an online streamer and commentator, posted a tweet that mentioned NordVPN in the context of the ongoing floods in Texas. Although the tweet appeared to be in jest, it quickly gained attention, leading some users to question whether the company was officially sponsoring the post or if it was part of a broader promotion.

Shortly after the tweet went viral, NordVPN began replying to users across the platform, denying any official partnership with Destiny. The company stated that there is “no such sponsorship” and emphasized that it had not authorized the use of its name in the context of the post.

In a statement shared across its social channels, NordVPN said it is “reviewing the misuse” of its brand and implied that it could take action if necessary to protect its trademark.

As of now, Destiny has not made any official comment regarding NordVPN’s reaction or the potential misuse of its branding. It remains to be seen whether the matter will escalate beyond social media exchanges.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
