Apple is giving the hit comedy a proper, well-earned farewell, starting with a double-episode premiere followed by weekly installments that bring Maximo’s story full circle.

Star and executive producer Eugenio Derbez confirmed the news in a statement to Variety, saying, “These four seasons have been magical. Acapulco brought joy and heart to audiences around the world, and while saying goodbye is bittersweet, I’m so proud of what we created. From our incredible cast, writers, and directors, to the way we celebrated Mexico’s culture, beauty, and warmth — it’s been an unforgettable ride.”

What has been said About Acapulco Season 4?

Reflecting on the journey of Acapulco, executive producers Austin Winsberg and Sam Laybourne expressed their gratitude, calling the show (via Variety) “a true miracle in the vast TV landscape.”

They added, “We are so grateful to Eugenio Derbez, Apple, Lionsgate, and all of our producing partners for the four amazing seasons we got to do of Acapulco... Produced by Lionsgate Television, Acapulco is inspired by the hit film How to Be a Latin Lover from 3Pas Studios and Pantelion Films. The series is made for Apple by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios, Zihuatanejo Productions, and The Tannenbaum Company. Eugenio Derbez not only stars in the show but also executive produces alongside Ben Odell.

The series was created by Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros, and Jason Shuman. Winsberg also serves as an executive producer with showrunner Sam Laybourne. Additional executive producers include Kim and Eric Tannenbaum, along with Jason Wang for The Tannenbaum Company.
