Survivor 48 has seemed to many as quite an unconventional season of the beloved CBS reality show, thanks to its gameplay being more involved in loyalty and tight personal relationships. However, regardless, at the end of the three-hour finale, there was only one sole survivor standing. So, who won Survivor 48? In this article, we will reveal that and then some more.
Kyle Fraser has won Survivor 48. Kyle came in with a people-first mentality and put his relationships and personal connections before the wins and advantages. This allowed him to understand what was going on with the game from different angles at all times. He also planned out moves and made them when he wanted to. At the Final Tribal Council, he impressed the jury with his lawyer skills and got the win over anyone else.
A PhD Student who was the first openly autistic candidate in the history of the show, Eva hid her academic prowess and instead opted to play up her jock side. This was made easy thanks to her experience playing hockey. However, the rest of the season wasn’t as easy for her as she revealed her secret during an emotional moment.
Thankfully, by the end of the season, she recovered and won the showdown during the Final Four firemaking. But the Council wasn’t convinced when she pleaded that this season deserved a winner like her.
Joe initially revealed that he was in the show to find closure after losing his sister to domestic violence. He wanted to play this show on her behalf, and soon he took Eva under his wing. Joe also kept her secret (that she was autistic) safe with him.
However, he wanted to win and did win Immunity Challenges and then some more. But Joe faltered during the final Tribal Council, where Kyle revealed that he had been set up a handful of times. So, his chances of winning were gone soon.
Mitch was a likeable contestant who hoped that people would ignore his lifelong stutter and work with him. Others never minded his stutter and that never stopped them from teaming up with him. However, even though he was a social butterfly, the P.E. teacher wasn’t quite the strategist.
He fumbled multiple chances for shaking up the play and instead often was content to wait things out. He did realize where he went wrong, but by then it was too late and he was ultimately voted out. Curiously, it was because he was too likeable.
Kamilla and Kyle teamed up to make some of the biggest moves that shook everyone. She also won two Immunity Challenges that gave her a big advantage. However, when the Final Four firemaking came, Kyle knew that Kamilla was his biggest competition. So he threw her into it and she was defeated. Curiously, she was defeated by herself as she failed to get a spark.
Survivor 48 is available on CBS and Paramount+. Survivor will return for season 49. It will premiere in the fall and air on CBS on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
