What Happened at the end of Poker Face Season 1?
By the end of Poker Face season one, Charlie Cale found herself deeper than ever in a web of crime, betrayal, and powerful enemies. After exposing casino manager Sterling Frost Jr.'s deadly scheme, his suicide sparked the wrath of his father, Sterling Frost Sr., who vowed revenge. While on the run, Charlie was pursued by Frost’s fixer, Cliff LeGrand.
Cliff, weary of chasing Charlie, struck a deal with mob boss Beatrix Hasp to betray his own employer. His plan to frame Charlie for Frost Sr.’s murder fell apart when she outwitted him, traded evidence for her freedom, and disappeared again. In the final moments, Charlie reconnected with her estranged sister Emily but was forced back into hiding after receiving a chilling threat from Beatrix Hasp, who offered her a choice: use her lie-detecting abilities for the mob or face the consequences.
Filming Details
Filming for Poker Face season two began on July 1, 2024, and concluded in late December of the same year (via 4Filming). One of the key shooting locations was Clover Stadium in Pomona, New York.
Behind the Scenes
Tony Tost, best known for Damnation, is stepping in as the showrunner for Poker Face season two, replacing Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, who served as showrunners during the first season. A source tells TVLine the Zuckermans are pursuing other projects but will stay on as executive producers.
Rian Johnson — the visionary mind behind Looper, Knives Out, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi — returns as creator, writer, executive producer, and director. Season two is produced by Johnson’s T-Street Productions and MRC Television, alongside Lyonne’s Animal Pictures banner. Executive producers include Johnson, Lyonne, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Tony Tost, and Iain MacDonald.
